This sweet family session was absolutely everything I live for as a photographer! I booked this session at the tail end of a very packed weekend full of photoshoots and was crossing my fingers hoping I would have plenty of energy to make their session unforgettable and when I pulled up to the park and saw the family with all the girls in matching dresses I was like "OMG, this is going to be CUTE!!!"
I met the adorable kids: the sweet 9-month-old Eden who immediately warmed up to me, the lively and hilarious 3-year-old Chloe, and the sweet, happy 5-year-old Stella and their gorgeous mom and supportive dad.
From the moment the session began, it was evident that this family was bursting with love and joy. Eden, with her contagious giggles and infectious smiles, lit up every frame she was in. Chloe, full of energy and spunk, kept us all entertained with her playful antics and hilarious expressions. And Stella, with her gentle demeanor and radiant personality looked like a little angelic model in all her portraits.
Despite being young, these three girls were absolute naturals in front of the camera. They were not only cooperative but also genuinely enjoyed being photographed, which made my job as a photographer all the more enjoyable. Their parents, too, were incredibly supportive and encouraging throughout the session. They let the kids run around and be themselves and did their best to keep them in line while still letting them have fun.
One of the highlights of the session was when the family decided to have an outfit change midway through. Watching them coordinate their outfits and seeing how excited the girls were to show off their red dresses for the Christmas part of the session.
I like to get a mix of posed and somewhat candid shots of families because I like the more natural candid moments too.
My favorite moment, however, of the entire session came towards the end when the formal portraits were done, and Chloe and Stella, overflowing with energy and excitement (ah, to be a kid again), began tossing leaves into the air and chasing each other around with sticks. I died laughing and immediately grabbed my camera to capture those free, happy, and wild childhood moments that I remember from when I was a little wild child playing in the park. I told their mom to let them run and play for a minute and not to stop them even though they were ready to go home. The girls played for a good 10 minutes and I thoroughly enjoyed laughing at their antics and expressions.
When they winded down, we all packed up and I left with my cart full of props and chatted with the kids as I walked.
I left the park so, so glad I fit them into my schedule and so happy to have met the family and captured these memories for them. I knew the pictures were going to be gorgeous and it was everything I loved about capturing families.
