This session was so much fun! This was for a helmet bow company, Braapnation. I thought it would be cool to capture horse back riders with bows on their helmets so I asked a friend from my gym if she would volunteer for the session. She and her adorable daughter and gorgeous mom all volunteered on the grandma's farm.
It was 10am when I arrived and the farm was a picture-perfect setting for a photoshoot. There were lots of rolling hills lit up in autumn colors (Side note, that mountain in the back is Mt Yonah!) and a beautiful barn. The horses were all friendly and well-groomed, and I could tell that the family loved spending time with them.
The little girl was the most experienced rider as she had taken a number of lessons and she was eager to show off her skills. So, I helped her mount the horse and then shortened her stirrups for her as I had taken years of riding lessons back in the day.
I then started snapping away! I captured her riding around the arena with confidence and poise. The mother and grandmother watched in awe and adoration. I could tell that they could tell the little girl was a wild, free spirited girl who absolutely adored horses. I captured the loving smile and gentle touch that she had with the horse.
I captured lots of action shots and portraits for them and it was a beautiful shoot all around! The grandma purchased 3 metal prints and an album from me and they all turned out lovely.
The photoshoot was a huge success, and I was so happy to have been a part of it. I hope that the family will cherish these photos for years to come.
