Rebecca's sister contacted me and asked if I did end of life pet sessions and I said yes. She immediately bought a gift card for her sister and asked that I get in touch with her to book the session. I contacted her sister and we set a date for the session.
I have photographed cats before and I know they are finicky so I brought an assortment of props and lighting to the session but found that much of it wasn't needed. We went out on the porch and got the sweetest photos of him loving on his mom. He hugged her, he crawled up her back and nuzzled her hair, he cracked us up licking his toe beans. It was one of the most relaxing, sweet photoshoots that I've done.
He even got curious about what I was doing and crawled up my back to check out my viewpoint and camera. He was soooo stinking sweet!
This session definitely hit home for me as I had an aging pup at home myself that I lost to kidney disease just weeks later. I miss her so much. I completely understand the sheer grief of losing a pet as it hit me so much harder than I expected.
Rebecca and her sister were so, so sweet. They both reached out to me and made sure I was okay, left me some of the kindest reviews that I will post below, and sent me a sweet plaque of a pawprint with my pup's name that I hung up where she used to sleep all the time.
I was so, so happy to capture the bond between Rebecca and Oliver Finn. They definitely had a strong emotional attachment to each other that you can see and feel in the photos.
This was her sweet review that she left for me: "Verity recently did a photo shoot of me and my Sphinx cat, Oliver Finn. The photo shoot was a gift from my sister as my cat is in the lates stages of his heart disease and she wanted me to have some memorable shots. The experience was amazing and Verity created a comfortable space for us to work in, Oliver was relaxed and showed us his playful side. It was so nice to connect with someone who loves her fur baby as much as I do. Our photo shoot was memorable and the photos were perfect! Definitely recommend Yata Photography!"
And this was the kind review her sister left for me: "In October my sister found out her cat’s illness was progressing and I began to look for photographers in Georgia (Im out of state) that would be able to capture their bond in this critical time. I stumbled across Yata Photography’s website and immediately was drawn to the type of photos Verity takes- authentic and genuine. I contacted her and purchased a package. She was incredibly responsive with my questions and coordinating the photoshoot directly with my sister aware that timing was critical. The photos came out amazing and actually tell the story of their bond. I am genuinely appreciative of not only the professionalism but kindness Verity showed. Thank you for a beautiful experience and memorable photos."
I'm so glad they trusted me with the session and happy that they loved the photos! They are both so, so sweet.
If you're interested in a session, you're more than welcome to contact me here to book.
