A couple of things to note when scheduling your newborn session:
-> Schedule your newborn session early. I can't stress this enough. Please schedule before you have the baby. I usually schedule for 5-7 days after delivery and then move around the appointment if the baby decides to come earlier or later.
-> Younger babies are usually MUCH easier to work with. The 4-7 day old babies sleep so well during their session. Older babies are fussier and usually don't like to be moved much as they are napping. I do my best to be gentle and not move the baby that much but changing their outfits, poses, etc do require the baby to be moved around.
-> Younger babies are much more flexible. The older they get, the less flexible they are so some poses are impossible with older babies.
-> I will work with an older baby but I can't guarantee the poses.
-> All newborn outfits and props are studio supplied so no need to worry about bringing any outfits. If you want to bring in a specific outfit or prop, you're more than welcome to.
-> Parents may not feel up to taking photos, especially moms who just spent 9 months carrying a wiggly baby in their bellies. I completely understand that. I try to take the most flattering poses of mommies with babies and usually, even if the mommy didn't want photos, they end up absolutely adoring the photos of them with their little ones.
-> Parent and sibling outfits can be very simple, neutral colors such as tan, gray, white, black, dark green, or dark pink. Solid colors are usually best. If you have absolutely nothing you feel comfortable wearing, contact me before your shoot and I can recommend some outfits or perhaps suggest a studio-supplied outfit.
-> Babies are literally only that little once. If you're on the fence about getting their photos done, I would recommend going with it. Having those photos printed out of canvases on nursery walls or in living rooms, etc just immortalize those precious moments. 💗💗💗
I want to make the process as simple as possible for my clients. I want my clients to love the photos and I want to create something timeless for them. I'll do my best to accommodate you!
