The Gardner family I had the pleasure of working with on 8/1/21.
I don't usually shoot in the mornings but sometimes, especially with big groups, evenings don't always work out. This was shot at 10am on a Sunday morning.
There were two families there already with kids and we were waiting on the grandparents. We shot a few of the kids and the little toddler was a bit grumpy that morning so we tried to give him a ball to cheer him up and when that didn't work we tried bubbles and a little plastic horse. The "horsey" seemed to do the trick and we got a couple of smiles in there.
The large family shot was a bit of an ordeal to get 2 dogs, 4 kids, and 6 adults to all smile and pose for the shot but we got it!
This was a fun backyard shoot done in Suwanee, GA and the dogs, adults, and older kids cooperated wonderfully. I absolutely love working with families especially ones with little kids. The kids aren't always in the mood for photos but I do my best to get smiles and make it fun for them. My goal is to get a good family portrait that they will cherish forever.
I like to get lots of candid shots of the kids playing and interacting with their parents and grandparents too because I feel those are important to have.
